The Project:

MVLA Community Scholars improves the economic mobility and quality of life of high-potential, underserved youth by providing four–year renewable college scholarships and individual mentoring to make a four-year degree achievable. Their existing website was outdated and difficult to maintain. We switched to WordPress and significantly streamlined the content. The initial home page slider and most pages feature student scholars that adds visual interest to the site. The non-profit organization is now able to do most updates themselves. Recently we replaced the slider with a compelling video on the home page.

What I did:

  • Start to finish deployment of new site
  • Optimization and editing of all photos and creation of home page slider.
  • Custom WordPress theme.
  • Advised on streamlining of content and navigation.
  • Designed the site for easy client updates.

What they say:

Geri designed and built an elegant, engaging website for our nonprofit that gives our organization credibility as a serious nonprofit. Geri contributed excellent design ideas as well as her thoughts on which information should be included and how it should be organized. The process was interactive, enjoyable and quick! She also trained us on how to update the site to keep it fresh. Working with Geri was a great experience – she’s skilled, creative, reliable and really delivers!”.
